Out of the mouths and all that

This past Friday was Dr. Suess Day and some of us went to a local elementary school to read books to kids. Part of the suggested curriculum was to discuss the book after it was read. This is what I got from the kindergartners:

Me: "And does anyone have any questions?"

a wee, tiny solemn-faced little girl raises her hand.

me: "Yes dear?"
tot: "Miss Gerbil, are you wearing... stockings??"
me: "Why... yes, I am."
tot (nodding) "I thought so. Thank you."
me: "You're welcome."

Also? I'm feeling tres Put Together this morning. Pinned my hair up in a chignon, hose with NO snags in them yet, my dark brown knit only-designer-top-that-I-own and my chunky fabulous smoky topaz pendant that I TOTALLY got for dirt freaking cheap but nobody knows that except well... everyone NOW but anyway.

I strutted just a bit as I exited my room. Shoulders back, chin up, feelin' GOOD.

And I went out and got coffee and all and completely failed to notice the big ol' splotch of toothpaste directly over my right nipple.

Because I'm just Klassy like that.

Seeing that a Gerbil left me a comment initially freaked me out... but this Gerbil is funny...

Klassy Gerbils are the Kat's Meow.

Good to see you back blogging. Would have been fun to see you with toothpaste above your nipple area but that's another story. I see betsey was confused to get a comment from a gerbil. I have to confess, I am also confused why a gerbil has a blog about a penguin on the telly.

well, its because i run rings around my own logic! and i suspect that i might have Property of the Zoo stamped somewhere...

and largely because Flying Circus shaped a good part of my pre-adolescence, right along with Benny Hill and Edward Gorey.

Isn't that how life is? I always seem to feel like that. It wasnt until I was up at Princess' school that I realized I had ranch dressing on my shirt. Ugh.

That reminds me of the time I dressed up for work, in a nice button-up shirt, during the winter (I say this like I've only dressed up for work once). It wasn't until I dropped off my lunch in the break room, having passed oh about 10 people or so who were all, unusually, staring at my chest. I then looked down and saw that I had forgotten to button my button-up shirt.

Sounds like a question Madison would ask....totally off topic.

I would have missed the toothpaste also but I wouldn't have noticed it until hours later when someone nice enough finally pointed it out to me!

But stockings - stockings? come on. Well, better than the Brittany look.
